Boycott Puma - Global day of action
Sydney
As part of the global BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions) movement for Palestinian rights, the Palestine Action Group Sydney is launching a campaign to Boycott Puma!
Puma, the global sportswear manufacturer, is actively sponsoring the occupation of Palestine and the brutal oppression of Palestinians. They are the main sponsor of the Israel Football Association (IFA), which includes teams in Israel’s illegal settlements on occupied Palestinian land.
That is why we are rallying at Pitt Street Mall on Saturday October 26: to attract attention to this issue and exert pressure on Puma to end its sponsorship of apartheid.
In July 2018 it was announced that Adidas was no longer sponsoring the IFA following an international campaign and the delivery of over 16,000 signatures to Adidas headquarters.
More than 200 Palestinian sports clubs have similarly called on Puma to end the sponsorship deal and stop supporting Israel’s illegal land grabs. Puma markets itself as a company that cares about equality, yet it funds the apartheid the IFA helps sustain.
This is a campaign that we can win if we build enough support, and it would be a massive victory for the BDS movement and for Palestinians!
